A regional water youth network was created by participants to the recent Youth for Water Conference organised by GWP Central America, Movimiento de Jóvenes por el Agua (Youth Movement for Water, MOJA) and La Ruta del Clima (The Climate Route) and supported by GWP South America, UNICEF-Nicaragua, Reforestamos Mexico, and IUCN. 

The staff of the Executive Secretariat carried out a retreat from 24 to 28 July 2017 in Leo, with the aim of updating the planning and organizing the final actions for a good end of the Mékrou project and the other initiatives.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) with support from the Global Water Partnership (GWP), has produced a new case study entitled “Mainstreaming Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) to Build Climate Resilience in the Caribbean Water Sector.”

Under the Strategic Goal 1 Catalyze Change, the WACDEP Programme of GWP China Region stresses cross-regional cooperation, sector plan optimization, investment on recycling renewable resources, south-south promotion and a good lesson of utilizing the water rights market.

“Thinking of pastoral care and water policies may sound farfetched for water managers and civil engineers with whom I spend a professional life – but not so. The ways we discuss water policy decisions often closely mirror broader social and ethical decisions.” GWP Technical Committee Chair Jerome Delli Priscoli recently addressed experts from around the world in a workshop at the Pontifical Academy of Science in the Vatican City.

The NCWR Programme, designed and implemented by GWP Mediterranean since 2008, has since realised 100 works in 4 countries across the Mediterranean aimed at increasing water availability.

In the run-up to World Water Day (WWD) on March 22nd, 2016, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) joins the entire Global Water Partnership (GWP) Network today in launching GWP’s 20^th anniversary video.

GWP publishes Perspectives Papers to contribute to discussions on important issues related to water and development. We welcome responses to these occasional papers.

GWPSA will participate in a panel discussion and make a presentation on “Sharing of experiences on successful Water Conservation and Demand Management Programmes in other countries”. The discussion is a part of the sector policy dialogue on Water Conservation and Water Demand Management (WDM) that will be hosted by the Policy Unit under the Department of Water Services, South Africa, and will be held on Wednesday 16^th March, 2016 in Pretoria.

Farmer Managed Irrigation Systems (FMIS) Promotion Trust in collaboration with GWP Nepal/JVS organised the 7th International Seminar on ‘Irrigation in Local Adaptation and Resilience' on 11 and 12 April 2017 at Himalaya Hotel, Lalitpur, Nepal.
