Executive Secretary and NO in Accra, Ghana

The Regional Coordinator, Mr. Dam MOGBANTE and Network Officer, mr. Manuel FULCHIRON made a mission in Accra, Ghana where they met with the regional office for Africa of the UN Food and Agriculture organization (FAO). The meeting aimed at informing and trying to secure partnership for the nexus « food security, water, food and ecosystem ». GWP shared its experience in particular on the country dialogs undertaken in 2015 in the context of the UN CFS work stream on water and food security as well as the envisaged follow up on water and food security in Africa.

The Mauritius Youth Water Network – Raising Awareness on current water situation and solutions for Mauritius

The Mauritius Youth Water Network (MYWN) is an association comprising youth from different organisations (government, NGOs and other civil society organisations).  The MYWN was set up in June 2015 following a National Youth Forum during the SADC Water Week. The forum brought together youth leaders to develop a national action plan for the implementation of the AMCOW Policy and Strategy on Mainstreaming Youth in the Water and Sanitation Sector and SADC Youth Strategy.

Resilient Cities - The Annual Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation - is the global platform for urban resilience and climate change adaptation, hosted in Bonn, Germany. 2017 marks the 8th edition of the Forum.

BURUNDI CWP General Assembly Committed to Mobilize Local Resources

On 26 March 2015, the Burundi CWP held its ordinary statutory general assembly meeting in Bujumbura to discuss several issues icluding review of  progress towards activity achievement for the year 2014 and strategy for the implementation of  Bu CWP’s Action Plan for the year 2015.

Water and Climate 2017

On the global stage, China has remained a low profile as a late comer in regard of technology, economic development, environmental protection, water and other resources security, climate adaptation. Regardless of the latest adverse impact on the promotion of “the Paris Agreement on Climate Change”, China has kept its promise to the Paris Agreement since it signed in late November of 2016, giving a strong push to the international efforts against global warming.

WACDEP Demo projects raise hope to village communities of Tampizua 2 and Azum Sapelga in Ghana!

The village communities of Tampizua II in the Bawku Municipality and Azum Sapelga in the Binduri district of Northern Ghana are very happy with the field demonstration project being implemented in their communities. Located on the borders of the White Volta River these communities are experiencing various unfortunate situations such as floodings that are affecting their livelihoods because of climate related factors.

Virtual SC meeting organized

An electronic consultation of the Steering Committee members was organized from 21 to 30 March 2017. According to the Statutes, two SC meeting should be organized every year, one of which should be virtual in order to reduce costs related to statutory meetings.

Monitoring and Evaluation

A key challenge for policy and advocacy organisations like GWP is demonstrating direct attribution between its work and the outcomes and impact that this work was designed to influence. To better describe and understand this attribution gap, GWP has in place a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system that consists of a hybrid of two methodologies; outcome mapping and traditional results-based management.
