International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually across the world to remind us of the battles fought and the ones ahead towards gender equality. Time is now for equality in water access and management! How can activism empower #WaterWomen?

Global Water Partnership-Southern Africa (GWP-SA) announced its re-positioning to re-align and adapt to regional and continental industrial strategy that will entail greater focus on water security, jobs and investments.

Jointly organised by the Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) and the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), the competition encourages children to have a closer look at their local rivers and reflect on what the environment means to them. Children from all schools, NGOs, day care centres or associations for children in the Danube Basin are invited to create a piece of art and take part in the Danube Art Master competition, which has united thousands of children from across the Danube River Basin since 2004.

GWP and UNICEF have been collaborating since 2014 on the development of a Strategic Framework for WASH Climate Resilient Development with a series of knowledge products to support the implementation of the Framework at regional, national, watershed and local level. Another two publications were launched at Stockholm World Water Week 2017.

The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is seeking to hire an expert from Drin Riparian Countries to provide Water Quality Surveillance Monitoring and Sampling Training in FYR Macedonia.

Water and Climate Change resilient youth champions and communities in Hindon River basin project was successfully concluded with the Hindon Mela held on 24 February 2018.

In Bolivia, shifts towards the privatisation of water supply and sewage services caused strong dissatisfaction, resulting in the eruption of social conflict. Because of the severe dissatisfaction, action was taken to cancel the previous agreements and instead launch a forum where government representatives, social organizations, the private sector and municipalities participate to formulate of a new policy. This case illustrates the crucial importance of rooting policies with the public.

Global Water Partnership (GWP) Africa teamed-up with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), under the implementation of the National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) to lead the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Regional Training Workshop for Asia on “Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation into Water Resources”.
