El Fondo Verde para el Clima (FVC) fue establecido en 2012 como un mecanismo financiero de la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC) dedicado al abordaje de la crisis climática. El FVC tiene el mandato específico de promover un desarrollo impulsado por el país, resiliente al clima y bajo en carbono. Se espera que este se convierta en un canal principal a través del cual fluirá la financiación pública internacional relativa al clima a lo largo del tiempo.

Water Pollution 2018 is the 14th International Conference in the series of Monitoring, Modelling and Management of Water Pollution. It is held 22-24 May in Coruña, Spain.

One of the key outcomes from the High-Level Panel on Water (2016-2018) was to establish a set of 5 principles on Valuing Water. Following from those recommendations, the Valuing Water Initiative (VWI) was created to support actors in putting those principles into practice. Since the beginning, GWP has been committed to promoting the Valuing Water Principles (VWPs) and using value-based approaches as part of its efforts towards improving water resources management. In collaboration with VWI, GWP supports events and consultation engagement processes at regional and global scales, mainstreams the VWPs in the design and implementation of IWRM plans, promotes the VWPs within its youth engagement initiatives, and develops knowledge products and methodologies related to Valuing Water.

In Sub Saharan Africa, climate change is worsening at an alarming rate. The situation on food security vis-à-vis water resources is serious and everyone has a responsibility to develop appropriate means to address the issue. Following national consultations in the led-up to the UN Committee on Food Security’s (UN CFS) 42^nd session last year, 50 representatives from 9 countries across Africa met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 18-19 May to prepare for the next step; moving from identification to implementation (#WFEEnexus).
