Strengthening partnership: NBA invits Mékrou Project to Experts meeting

    The Mékrou Project Officer was invited to take place to the meeting of Niger Basin Authority experts Committee prior to the Council of Minister in Abuja. The NBA meetings took place from May 25 to June 2, 2016 in the Capital city of Nigeria. GWP WA was fully represented by the Mékrou Project Officer.

    The GWP-CAf general Assembly of Partners

    The GWP - CAf general assembly of partners was held in Douala, Cameroon on November 6, 2015 under the theme " water sector funding challenges in Central - Africa Opportunities and Constraints: What strategy to adopt? "

    The consulting partner meeting brought together the chairs of the 4 country water partnerships of Cameroon, Central African Republic, Sao Tomé and Principe as well as the acting chair of GWP-CAf Technical Committee, GWPO network officer for central Africa, representatives of basin organizations like International commission for Congo-Oubangui-Sangha basin (CICOS), the Lake Chad Basin Commission, and the representatives of civil society organizations.

    Water-Employment-Migration

    New challenges related to water have strongly emerged in the Mediterranean like those linked with increased migration flows due to conflict, social unrest and degradation of natural resources and well as changing consumption patterns. Linked with these, employment challenges, particularly for the younger generation and women, remain central and in need of long term approaches and substantial action.
