For the past century, Thailand had been experiencing constant severe floods which typically occurred in between August and December. Yet, the worst flood ever experienced in more than a half century in Thailand was the mega 2011 flood – indicating tremendous loss of lives and properties across socio-economic sectors. 

The workshop to launch the activities of the project "Ecosystem Conservation and International Water Resources Management of the Mano River Union" was held on 20 March 2018 in Abidjan, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Water and Forestry, represented by Colonel Yamani SORO, Director General of Water and Forestry.

Concerns over water scarcity and the need for financing the sustainable management of water resources tend to be understood and valued disproportionately in the region

Mandaue City 24 November 2018 -- Philippines successfully organized a session during the 4th International River Summit “raising awareness, commitment and resources for the rivers”. During the month of May, ten workshops were held in the different regions of Honduras to raise awareness on the steps taken by the government to prepare for the implementation of SDG 6 in the country, as well as to promote that the Goal is included in local and territorial planning. They were also an opportunity to share information on GWP's campaign #ActOnSDG6.
