LAUNCHING WORKSHOP OF THE INTEGRATED DROUGHT MANAGEMENT PROJECT IN WEST AFRICA (IDMP/WAf)
(Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso) – The "Integrated Drought Management Project in West Africa (IDMP/WAF)" is the title of the new project which will be officially launched on January 28, 2015 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (Palm Beach Hotel), with partners from three countries covered.
This meeting will be attended by forty participants from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.

Luke Smith, a Trinidadian graduate student at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, has claimed the top spot in the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) Media Awards on Water 2015 – Video Competition.
« Alliance Fas’Eau » is the name of the new alliance officially launched on 17 May 2016 in Ouagadougou by a group of fourteen (14) Civil Society organisation under the leadership of IRC Burkina.
The sixth statutory meeting of the Assembly of Partners of Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) was held on 7 and 8 May 2015 in Cotonou, Benin. The theme of the meeting was " The challenge of the post-2015 Development Agenda in Africa: what role for Partnerships in the context of Climate Change?'. Organized by the GWP Regional Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, petroleum exploration, mining, water and renewable energy, and the Country Water Partnership of Benin, it was under the patronage of the Minister.
Preparations for GWP’s participation in Stockholm World Water Week 2015 have been going on for several months and everything is now ready. The network is organising a number of events and GWP representatives will participate in many sessions throughout the week of 23-28 August.

GWP Central America, through the Water, Climate and Development Programme, has developed a socioeconomic analysis of the sectoral impact of the drought of 2014 in Central America. The study concludes that losses are substantial in the agriculture, hydropower and water services sectors – exceeding US$ 650 million.
