Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP – Med), legally and lawfully represented by the non-profit society MEDITERRANEAN INFORMATION OFFICE FOR ENVIRONMENT, CULTURE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT – MIO ECSDE announces the present call for the provision of Audit Services as follows:
The first water agency in Burkina Faso was created on 22 March 2007 and covers an area of 60,337 km², i.e. 21% of Burkina Faso's surface area, with a population of around 8 million inhabitants, representing 44% of the country's population in 2015. It covers several large cities including the capital Ouagadougou and six (06) regional chief locations, which increases the already strong pressure on the basin's water resources.
The 'Resilient Thessaly' project, based on partnership between GWP-Med, the Municipality of Trikala and The Coca-Cola Foundation, will implement stormwater management works, within the frame of a holistic intervention aimed to strengthen the city's climate resilience in response to the devastating floods caused by storm Daniel in September 2023.
First integrated training marks the official start of Montenegro’s Green Climate Fund Capacity Building Training Programme under the project “Building Technical and Institutional Capacity in the Water Sector in Montenegro to Facilitate Inclusive Climate Resilience Initiative” which will produce the country’s first Climate-Resilient Water Investment Plan.
Botswana and Tanzania have recorded remarkable progress in the implementation of climate-smart pilot projects addressing Water, Energy, and Food securities through the Global Climate Change Alliance Plus (GCCA+) Project being implemented in the two countries.
In 2020, Global Water Partnership (GWP) in collaboration with The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) together with UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net, operates the SDG 6 IWRM Support Program, to support 60 countries in implementing the survey.
The first-ever Flood Risk Management Strategy and Action Plan for the Drin Basin aiming to enhance flood preparedness, improve risk management, and foster mutual support across the basin was endorsed by the representatives of the Drin Riparians.
