Background 

GWP representatives from Stockholm were specially invited to participate through an initiative by our partners of the upcoming Country Water Partnership of Turkmenistan. This event was regarded as a strategic opportunity for introducing how IWRM can be a helpful mechanism in a concrete project.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) currently has more than 120 partners in over 22 Caribbean countries. GWP-C has the support of the Global Water Partnership which comprises of 13 Regional Water Partnerships and more than 75 Country Water Partnerships worldwide. The global network has over 3000 partners in over 180 countries.

GWPSA invites all the organisations who are committed to the sustainable management of the world's water resources and sharing the same values with us to become active partners of our extended network, so that you can keep up-to-date on water issues and help to create a water secure world. GWPSA's programmes and activities since inception have supported institutions charged with delivering on continental, regional & national water-related priorities by following an Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) approach; which is a coordinated, goal-directed processes for controlling the development and use of river, lake, ocean, wetland, and other water assets.

GWP Southern Africa (GWPSA) is one of 13 regional networks that make up GWP, an international network that was created in 1996 to foster implementation of integrated water resources management: the coordinated development and management of water, land, and related resources that maximises economic and social welfare without compromising the sustainability of ecosystems and the environment.

GWP-Southeast Asia mission is to encourage, support, facilitate member countries network in achieving water security through the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) approach.

The vision of the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is for a water secure Caribbean. GWP-C's mission is to support Caribbean countries in the sustainable management of their water resources at the community, national and regional level.

Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia is one of the region in the international network which created to foster an integrated approach to water resources management (IWRM). The Global Water Partnership's vision is for a water secure world. Its mission is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development. The Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia was born in the year 2004. The Southeast Asia region was one of the earliest regions to take-off with a Global Water Partnership Regional Meeting on Water Resources Management for Southeast Asia held in Manila in June 1997
