The theme of World Water Day 2024 is ‘Water for Peace’. On the occasion of World Water Day, we asked GWP CACENA partners what "Water for Peace" means to them.
The fifth Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of the Mono Basin Authority (MBA) was held in Cotonou on 19 January 2023, under the chairmanship of Mr. Samou SEIDOU ADAMBI, Minister of Water and Mines of the Republic of Benin, Chairman of the MBA Council of Ministers.
Following the workshop to re-launch the PANGIRE Steering Committee held on August 17 and 18 in Cotonou, the Benin Water Directorate, with the technical and financial support of Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) and the Benin Country Water Partnership (CWP-Benin) through the Water, Climate, Development and Gender Equality Program (WACDEP-G), launched the work of the workshop of extended consultation of national actors for the assessment of the 2nd phase of the National Action Plan for Integrated Water Resources Management (PANGIRE) of Benin and Proposals of actions for the 3rd phase.
The CWP Burkina organized on March 1st, 2023 an awareness campaign for the pupils of the rural commune of Komki Ipala on the importance of the three fights in Burkina Faso and the good hygiene practices in order to catalyze the changes of behaviour. Three (03) sensitisation sites including Komki A school, Komki B school and Tintilou C school were selected.
Engr. Quamrul Islam Siddique was a prominent alumnus of the Department of Civil Engineering who is a freedom fighter, leader and a modern architect of rural infrastructure development in Bangladesh. He played the leading role in establishing of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in its present form. He died of on 1 September 2008 at the age of 63.
