Brisbane, Australia | July 25, 2025 — It has been an inspiring and learning-filled week at the 20th World Lake Conference (WLC20) in Brisbane, Australia, where global experts gathered to discuss the future of lake ecosystems in the face of mounting environmental pressures.
An institutional workshop to share experiences and simulate flood management on 21 August 2024 in Hèrèdougou was held on 24 and 25 June in Ziniaré in the Central Plateau Region to define actions to strengthen the technical capacities of national institutions in flood forecasting and management.
Yellow River Protection Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted in October 2022 and took effect on April 1st, 2023. In March and April 2023, the GWP China Yellow River, supported by the Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, organized various activities to expand the influence of the Yellow River Protection Law after engaging river basin residents through publications, exhibitions and thematic campaigns.
World Water Week held every year since 1991 is one of the leading conferences on global water issues. The theme of this year’s World Water Week is “Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World.”
