Under the GEF/UNEP MedProgramme, a Nexus Policy Dialogue for Lebanon based on a Nexus Assessment, led by GWP-Med aims to promote tangible solutions contributing to the security of water, energy and food resources, while protecting valuable ecosystems and their functions.
The 10th World Water Forum “Water for Shared Prosperity” Kick-Off Meeting facilitated several discussions on six topics of water management through thematic and regional processes at the Jakarta Convention Center. As the host for the 10th World Water Forum that will be held in Bali on 18-24 May 2024, the Government of Indonesia facilitated the first kick-off meeting (stakeholders consultation meeting) on 15-16 February 2023, attended by policymakers, academics, practitioners, and associations operating in and related to the water sector.
The 1st meeting in 2023 of the Indonesia Water Coalition (IWC) was held at Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa to discuss the plan and budgeting. Carried out on 6 February 2023, the event also includes planting 9 trees as a symbol of the IWC's mission to support water conservation.
The unique value of GWP lies in its capability to mobilise action on water through a combination of credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. This ensures that the ‘voices of water’ can influence local, national, regional, and global development priorities.

For the past 10 months, Malawi has been battling a cholera outbreak which health authorities have classified as the worst in decades. The outbreak has so far claimed over a thousand lives and recorded over 25,000 cases as of January 2023, with the case fatality rate standing at 3.3% as opposed to the less than 1% recommended by the World Health Organization.
