46 participants, including 38 women from 8 associations, including Kolweogo, took part in training session on associative life, management and the proper keeping of accounting documents in Komki Ipala, in the greater Ouagadougou area.
The implementation of the project "Water for Growth and Poverty Reduction in the Mekrou sub-basin of Niger" (Mekrou Phase 2-Niger Project), financed by the European Union, has made significant progress in the area covered by the project, namely the communes of Tamou and Kirtachi in the Tillabery region and Falmey in the Dosso region.
Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) face greater challenges in ensuring water security for all and by all. Although LAC is a water-abundant region, water is not easily and equally available to all citizens and users. Water in the region is often found in rural and natural areas, while the most populated urban areas report water stress levels above 80% for periods ranging from 3 to 12 months per year.

The Global Water Partnership’s (GWP) Sponsoring Partners have selected Mr. Pablo Bereciartua, President of the Argentinean Engineering Centre (Centro Argentino de Ingenieros – CAI), as Chair of GWP. The appointment is effective July 1, 2022. Bereciartua currently serves as a member of the GWP Steering Committee.
The Project management team of the project organized two workshops in Falmey (Dosso) and Tillaberi from 18 to 21 October, 2022 for the elaboration of the action plan for the integrated management of water resources and other related resources of the pilot sites of the Mekrou Phase 2 Niger Project in the Mekrou sub-basin in Niger.
