The Project management team of the project organized two workshops in Falmey (Dosso) and Tillaberi from 18 to 21 October, 2022 for the elaboration of the action plan for the integrated management of water resources and other related resources of the pilot sites of the Mekrou Phase 2 Niger Project in the Mekrou sub-basin in Niger.
Thirty-five stakeholders from state institutions, civil society organizations, parastatals, Research institutions and the private sector identified processes, actors, and information systems involved in the development of policies, laws, and projects at the national and local levels in the water and climate sector which can serve as entry points for gender.
Benin has developed its multi-sectoral National Adaptation Plan (NAP) which covers the eight most vulnerable development sectors, namely Water resources, Agriculture, Health, Energy, Forest ecosystems, Coastal zone, Infrastructures and urban development and, Tourism. This participatory development work benefited from the technical and financial support of GIZ and UNDP.
More than 50 stakeholders representing public institutions, NGOs, international organisations to name but a few participated at the SDG 6.5.1 review process in Lebanon, which has just been concluded with the assistance of GWP-Med.
Contributing to a major United Nations environmental meeting convened in Stockholm, Sweden, GWP and partners are convening a side event to champion ‘Water Alignment that enables water aligned finance, strategy, and action.’
September 8, 2022, GWP China organized experts online and offline to contribute to the theme of "Big Data Supports Integrated Water Resources Management(IWRM)" as a side-event of the 2022 International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (FBAS 2022).
