There is an opportunity for a Zambia water industry that will help boost the country’s economy, Global Water Partnership – Southern Africa (GWP-SA) Executive Secretary, Alex Simalabwi has said.
Global Water Partnership-Southern Africa (GWP-SA) announced its re-positioning to re-align and adapt to regional and continental industrial strategy that will entail greater focus on water security, jobs and investments.
On May 23-25, 2017, the fourth south-south interregional water cooperation gathered GWP China, Central Asia and Caucasus, South Asia and South East Asia, four Regional Water Partnerships, in Pokhara, Nepal.

Staff from GWP’s 13 regions met for Regional Days in Stockholm, Sweden, on 9-12 May. The annual event is an opportunity to take stock of current and on-going matters in the network, and to plan for the year ahead. Coinciding with this, GWP’s Network Meeting was held, and broadcast live on Facebook.
Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe releases the Compendium of Good Practices, which provides an overview of the outputs and accomplishments achieved within the Integrated Drought Management Programme in CEE in the period from 2013 to 2015.
The Dialogue on “Governance and Financing of water projects in Lebanon: Private Sector Participation and the role of Banks in investments” was successfully launched on 27 March 2017, representing a strategic synergy of the UfM/Sida project “Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector” and the European Union funded project “Sustainable Water Integrated Management (SWIM)-Horizon 2020 Support Mechanism”.
