On May 06, 2022, the second session of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin" (VFDM Project) was held in Cotonou, Benin.

GWP-Med, as represented by its Host Institute MIO-ECSDE is conducting an open call for offers for the Construction of three (3) wetlands (tertiary treatment) to treat the water coming out from Al-Salt Wastewater Treatment Plant and three (3) solar systems to provide energy for the irrigation pumping systems in three (3) farms, in the framework of the Project: MENA Water Matchmaker 2 Project

At the U.N.’s Stockholm+50 Conference, GWP and partners explored how the concept of water alignment can enable transformation across stakeholders and sectors, strategies, political leadership, finance, and action, with water as a central driver for sustainable development and climate resilience.

About 500 GWP partners from the thirteen GWP Regions gathered online on May 25th for the 2022 GWP Network meeting to share experiences and discuss initiatives geared toward leading the change and innovation in the water sector.

As the world faces the challenges of climate change, population growth, and urbanisation, GWP’s 2022 Network Meeting of Partners centred around the question, 'how can we push innovation in water?' “You will get some ideas from us, but what is more important is the voice from our Partners,” said GWP’s Executive Secretary and CEO Darío Soto-Abril, as more than 320 participants joined from 95 countries.

The 2022 network meeting was held earlier compared to the previous session. The meeting was held after the event of Regional Days with a hybrid format. The Regional Chairs, Regional Coordinators, Regional Communications Officers, Regional programme managers and GWP Global Secretariat staff who are in Stockholm participated according to the topics discussed in the breakout group session.
