Caribbean Water Ministers Will Meet to Discuss Water Security Issues in the Region

The Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA), the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and the Global Environment Facility’s Caribbean Regional Fund for Wastewater Management (GEF-CReW) are collaborating to host the 10th Annual High Level Session (HLS) Ministerial Forum in The Bahamas on October 9th and 10th, 2014.

Each year, the Forum brings together Ministers and senior officials responsible for water resources management to discuss key issues in water resources management and to identify policy and other approaches for safeguarding water security in the Caribbean. This year’s HLS will focus on “Caribbean Water Security – Risks and Opportunities.”

The HLS Ministerial Forum is an unmatched regional event, being the only meeting of Caribbean Water Ministers to date. It is no secret that for water to advance to the top of the development agenda, there is need for greater political will and attention. The Forum presents a platform to support this and to achieve greater water cooperation in the Caribbean region.

Several Caribbean Water Ministers and senior government officials are scheduled to take part in the 10th HLS which forms part of the 23rd Annual Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) Conference and Exhibition which runs from October 6th – 10th, 2014 in The Bahamas.
