GWP-C Welcomes Dr. Roxanne Graham-Victor as Regional Coordinator

The Global Water Partnership Caribbean (GWP-C) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Roxanne Graham-Victor as the new GWP-C Coordinator, effective May 1st, 2025. Dr. Graham-Victor- a Grenadian, is an accomplished environmental specialist, with a wealth of expertise in marine and water resource management. She holds a PhD in Maritime Affairs, with her research focusing on marine debris management in the Eastern Caribbean, as well as a Master’s degree in Marine Affairs specializing in invasive species and their impact on marine ecosystems.

As the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean looks to drive sustainable water management across the Caribbean, the new Regional Coordinator will be expected to lead the efforts to advance Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), addressing key water challenges faced by Caribbean nations. Her responsibilities will include overseeing strategic initiatives, foster cross-sector collaboration, and drive efforts to secure funding and technical support for water management programs in the Caribbean.

 

"It hasn’t been easy, but the unwavering hope, resilience, and positive spirit of the people of the Caribbean continue to inspire and drive this important work. I have had the privilege of teaching and working on the pressing issues of pollution in aquatic environments and climate change and adaptation strategies, including water resource conservation over the past 8 years," she added.

Dr.Graham-Victor is I fully committed to continuing this collaborative spirit with our partners, and I am eager to advance initiatives that strengthen water security and resilience throughout the region, ensuring that our precious water resources are protected and sustainably managed for generations to come.

Dr. Graham-Victor’s appointment comes at a crucial time as GWP-C prepares for its first major regional activity in 2025 – a workshop aimed at strengthening Integrated Water Resource Management and collaboration across Caribbean SIDS, that will be held in Grenada in June. Under her direction, GWP-C is also expected to continue to build on its partnership with governments,regional institutions, and technical experts to promote sustainable water management practices across the region.

Dr. Graham-Victor’s appointment also reflects GWP-C’s ongoing commitment to increasing the capacity of regional offices, fostering strong partnerships, and ensuring that water-related challenges are addressed with the urgency they require within the Caribbean region.
