These awards are intended to be a symbolic event for the recognition of all the efforts of the different actors of the water sector and sanitation to improve the living conditions and welfare of the people of Burkina Faso. The organisation of the water and sanitation trophies is to highlight the importance of this sector in the nation's development challenges and show the recognition of the nation to her sons, daughters, and partners, as well as to all goodwill that would have contributed to save lives, improve the welfare of the people and boost the development of the country through concrete actions, innovative ideas and any form of support.
The first edition is planned for September 2016 in Ouagadougou.
CWP Burkina prepares the water and sanitation awards
The water awards is the last initiative of the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Burkina Faso. The aim of the Water and Sanitation Awards is to enable the identification of relevant actions in the water and sanitation sector, in order to acknowledge and honor the efforts of individuals and legal entities which are either at the base or contributed to the achievement of these actions. The ambition is to give visibility and promote water and sanitation as central to sustainable development in the country.
