The Ivorian government has initiated a study on the integration of the gender approach in the water sector in the Ivory Coast. The objective of the study is to make a thorough analysis of the integration of the gender approach in the water sector in the country.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) in collaboration with Cap-Net UNDP (Caribbean WaterNet) and The Faculty of Food and Agriculture (UWI, St. Augustine) will host three (3) national workshops on Drought Risk Management.

“Analysis of the resilience of WASH services to the effects of climate change in rural areas: the case of the localities of Douna and Soubakaniédougou in the cascade region of Burkina Faso”, this is the title of the thesis document that Ms. Phebée OUEDRAOGO defended for her Master’s degree from the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2IE) on June 1st 2019.

Each month, the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) National Section, hosts a public lecture in the area of water management under its “Professional Perspectives” series.

Africa in particular its sub Saharan part, is one of the most affected areas in the world regarding food insecurity (Africa 2014 report on hunger, IFPRI). The agricultural sector which food security and poverty reduction depends very much on in Africa is likely to be affected by climate change if no action is taken.  It is against that background that The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa held national consultations on water and food in Malawi and Lesotho on the 21^st of April 2016.
