On 27-28 November 2014 the Global Forum on Environment: "New Perspective on the Water-Energy-Food-Nexus" was held in the OECD headquarters in Paris.

The Drin River is a complex transboundary water system and a strategic developmental resource for its riparian states in South Eastern Europe.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. SEIDOU ADAMBI Samou, Minister of Water and Mines of Benin, chair of the VBA Council of Ministers.

A training will be held by the Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med), in partnership with the African Center for Training of Journalists and Communicators (CAPJC), and the Association Children of the Earth Network (ARET), on December, 23-24, 2014, in Tunis, Tunisia.

Climate change is intensifying the global water cycle and exposing large segments of the world’s population to significant water-related hazards. These are expected to increase in severity over time.

A landmark conference took place on 15-17 October 2014 at Birchwood Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa to enhance discussions between SADC and SADC regional partners such as River Basin Organisations, International Cooperating partners and developmental partners, such as RESILIM, CRIDF and GWPSA on “Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Resilience in Water Related Disasters”.

From 7 July 2018 the Programme for the Integrated Management of the Fouta Djallon Highlands is considered as transferred from the African Union to the Economic Commission of West African States (ECOWAS).

A meeting was held on October 27, 2015 in the conference room of GWP West Africa to discuss issues related to the establishment of the regional platform for stakeholders on drought management in the region. During this second meeting a presentation was made on various tools that could be used to ease communication between members of the platform before and when it is set up. Among these tools were social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), Google communication tools, Yammer, etc.

 

In order to support the Municipal Association of Users of natural resources of the Niger Basin of Péhunco (ACU-Péhunco) to implement a micro-project for the mobilization and the integrated management of resources of the Beket reservoir, the community of Beket in the town of Péhunco received a 10-day training session in September 2015 on the construction and use of economic Wanrou stoves. Indeed, this micro-project is in line with the "Shared Vision for the preservation of the Niger Basin ecosystem for its sustainable development" and the "promotion of IWRM in the national portion of Niger Basin" of the WASH-Benin Program.

On the occasion of its 15th Anniversary and the launching of the SDG Water Preparedness Facility Program in Hungary, GWP Hungary invited partners, donors, collaborators and supporters to an Anniversary meeting, which was held on the 20th of November 2017 in Budapest.
