2021 marks 25 years since Global Water Partnership (GWP) was founded with a mission to foster Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and – ultimately – to achieve a water secure world. Throughout 2021, celebrations will take place in the worldwide network of 3,000 Partners, highlighting past successes and setting new goals for future achievements.
World Water Day is commemorated on 22 March - an annual UN observance to focus attention on the global water crisis. This year’s theme is 'Valuing Water', exploring what water means to people, its value and how we can protect this essential life resource. GWP South Asia, the global GWP office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Netherlands are organising a regional webinar on experiences and lessons at country level.

As part of the implementation of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Readiness Proposal for the Central African Republic, the Global Water Partnership Central Africa (GWP-CAf) is looking for a Project Coordinator. For the first time since the establishment of the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) in 2004, Belize has now become an official Partner country of the GWP-C. It is well-known that Belize is a country based in Central America but has maintained strong ties to the Caribbean, as part of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Mainly due to the country’s geographical location, it fell under the GWP Central America Partnership.
Since inception in 2018, #TonFuturTonClimat has been implemented in Togo through the Youth Support Project for the Protection of the Environment, Water and Soil (PAJPEES) in Danyi-Apéyémé. To assess the activities already implemented and those in progress, a participatory evaluation was carried out in February.
The islanders of Oinousses are provided with water saving equipment, to help them save 1.000.000 litres of water over one year, through the "Water is in our Hands" inititiave by GWP-Med and consumer goods company Reckitt, in collaboration with local authorities.
