The UNFCCC climate talks - the 24th Conference of the Parties and 14th Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol - more commonly known as COP24, is held in Katowice, Poland, on 2-14 December. GWP is present and involved in a number of events.
Created in 2008 in Bangui, the CAR Country Water Partnership's mission is to support the government in the sustainable management of water resources through the adoption of IWRM principles. It brings together all the actors in the water sector, organised in groups of actors, who subscribe to the management and working principles promoted by the GWP network.
On 8 March 2019: International Women’s Day falls on 8 March with this year’s theme “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change” which focuses on innovative ways in which individuals can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of access to public services, social protection systems and sustainable infrastructure. Transformations, integrated approaches and new solutions are necessary particularly for advancing gender equality and empowering women on the journey to achieve the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In other words, “business as usual” will not be sufficient and should put forward innovative approaches that removes structural barriers and ensures no woman and no girl is left behind.

The seventh Africa Water Week was organized in Gabon from 0ctober 29 to November 02 on the theme « Toward Achieving Water Security and Safely Managed Sanitation for Africa”. GWP was one the main session convening institution and GWP WA was represented by the Chair, Prof. Amadou Hama MAIGA and the Executive Secretary, Mr. Armand HOUANYE.

Huiping Chen is a Professor of International Law at the Xiamen University School of Law in China. She also leads the GWP China Fujian Provincial Partnership. August 31, 2020 – Enhancing water security between nations has become an imperative with water use in river basins surpassing sustainable limits and roughly 60% of the world’s freshwater resources crossing national borders. As a response, a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) aims to deliver the skills and knowledge for water cooperation. GEF IW:LEARN has been driving the development of the MOOC, coordinated and produced by Global Water Partnership (GWP), and with contributions from leading organisations.
