Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) joins the whole world in celebrating International Women’s Day on 8 March 2017 under the theme: “Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women's lives.”
On Thursday, September 27th, 2018, the entire GWP Network will embark on its first-ever “Follow-the-Sun” GWP Network Meeting. Partners from 46 countries will go LIVE from all corners of the world.
In the face of profound global water challenges, on World Water Day 2018 five global multi-stakeholder partnerships representing business, governments, intergovernmental organisations, academia, and civil society organisations announced a new collaboration effort designed to accelerate progress toward ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation around the world. Over 1000 scientists, practitioners, business leaders and policymakers from around the world are meeting in Cape Town, South Africa on 18-21 June to discuss climate change adaptation.

The regional secretariat has organized on 2nd October 2017 a ceremony for the official transfer of services from the outgoing chair, Pr. Abel AFOUDA to the incoming one, Pr. Amadou Hama MAIGA.
The GWP communication officers met in Beijing, China from 13 to 20 October 2018 for their traditional annual training and experience sharing meeting hosted by GWP China.
