Since November 2018, the Country Water Partnership of Mali had initiated a consultation framework with the various stakeholders to address the dangers facing water resources and the lack of reliable results of the actions undertaken by the various structures involved in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the country.
The 8th Assembly of Partners took place on 28-29 September 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The theme of this AP was " Water Security in the ECOWAS in the context of SDGs implementation".
On 28 October 2017, Prof. WANG Hao, Standing Vice Chair of GWP China and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering showed on “VOICE” which is prevalent for talking with young audiences and sharing with them diversely natural knowledge. "Nature is the true treasure", he said on the TV show.
In the face of profound global water challenges, on World Water Day 2018 five global multi-stakeholder partnerships representing business, governments, intergovernmental organisations, academia, and civil society organisations announced a new collaboration effort designed to accelerate progress toward ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation around the world. From 20 to 27 June 2018, a mission of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) composed of consultants Caroline WITTNER and Ramesh TRIPATHI visited Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso.
From 12-14 June 2019, GWPEA Regional Coordinator was invited and supported by SDG Center Africa to participate and contribute to the Conference on “SDGs implementation in Africa – reflections on a three-year journey” in Kigali, Rwanda.
22 March 2018 : GWP CAf joins the global community to celebrate World Water Day (WWD), which aims to raise awareness on the importance of water and promote sustainable water resources management. This year, the WWD is celebrated under the theme "Water: the answer is in nature".
The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD – formerly the NEPAD Coordination Agency), in collaboration with COMESA, AMCOW, AfDB, GWP Africa, and with support from GIZ, convened a PIDA Water Programme Stakeholders’ Workshop in Lusaka, Zambia from 24 to 26 April 2019.
