Within the GWP, the place of women is important. We believe that they are powerful catalysts for change even though they are often absent from decision-making processes about water management policies.
GWP requires the services of a consultant to support project development and research for project preparation partnership. The consultant will also contribute actively to GWP global WACDEP programme and support global climate policy processes and climate finance opportunities.
The main objective of this workshop was to encourage young women to be more active in the domain of water and climate and to facilitate the creation of the RECOJAC Young Ambassador Programme for Water and Climate.
Mr. Hongqi SHANG, on behalf of GWP China Region, was duly approved by the GWP Steering Committee as new independent Nomination Committee member on 5th December 2017, in Stockholm, Sweden.

Benin has established a Network of Professional Women in the Water and Sanitation Sector (RBFPEA) on 11 May 2018 in Cotonou to promote the involvement of professional women in the implementation of actions and projects and highlight their contribution to the development of the sector. CWP-Benin strongly supported the initiative.
CWP Guinea organized a conference on IWRM on February 4, 2019 at Mahatma Gandhi University to raise awareness among students on this approach to manage sustainably water resources.
The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ will take place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Global Water Partnership (GWP) are increasing their long-standing cooperation to strengthen water resource management at a time when climate change, population shifts and environmental degradation are leading to more stress on water supplies and more water-related hazards.
GWP Nigeria held a meeting between the Country Nexus team and the ECOWAS Department for Agriculture, Water and Environment on the 11/9/2017 with the WEFE regional coordinator, Dr. Fabien Hountondji in attendance. The meeting was attended with Dr. Johnson Boanuh - Director, Environment representing the Commissioner who was unavailable.
