Water is to adaptation what energy is to mitigation – and with this in mind, GWP and the NDC Partnership co-convened a ministerial dialogue on December 10. Bringing together progress made on implementing SDG6 – the Water Goal – with climate adaptation ambitions, GWP launched “The Untold Story of Water”, an analysis of 80 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) has extended its World Water Day (WWD) 2019: Caribbean 1-Minute Video Challenge to March 20th, 2019. This means that there is still time to enter for a chance to 1 of 4 prizes.

“Water, sanitation and hygiene are absolutely critical for resilient societies. Whether you are talking about resilience to diseases like Covid-19 or resilience to climate change. The Silk Road began in ancient China and connected with Asia, Africa and Europe. It has developed from a land-based commercial route to a communication link between East and West in economic, political and cultural aspects. The “Belt and Road” aims to borrow the historical symbols of the ancient Silk Road. Contemporary Silk Road pays attention to sharing and win-win and realises the diversified, independent, balanced and sustainable development of countries along the route through the interconnection of Asian, American and European continents and nearby oceans.

In the implementation process of the Multi Year Programme 4 (MYP), the Benin Country Water Partnership (CWP) and its partner, the Belgian NGO PROTOS welcome in Cotonou from 19 to 23 March a team of experts led by Jan Walravens of International Marine and Dredging Consultants (IMDC).

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) in collaboration with Cap-Net UNDP (Caribbean WaterNet) and The Faculty of Food and Agriculture (UWI, St. Augustine) will host three (3) national workshops on Drought Risk Management.

The investment potential in wastewater treatment and reuse in Middle East & North Africa (MENA) was discussed at a session organised by the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) during the recent World Water Week in Stockholm (27 August – 1 September 2017). This was part of the “MENA Focus” set of 4 sessions, led by key institutions in the Region.2017 was the 2nd year that a dedicated MENA Regional Focus was part of the World Water Weeks’ programme, alongside the Regional Focus Days for Africa, Asia and Latin America. In addition to the (co) organization of sessions, GWP-Med is coordinating the overall “MENA Focus”.
