Since then, Communications Officers of 13 regions, together with the Head of Communications in Stockholm, have organised various activities and campaigns that promoted the Strategy and helped women/young women to play a crucial role in water management at each level.

IDMP pilot actions in Niger

Two pilot actions are being implemented in Niger, the first in Kankantouti (Torodi) and the second one in both Gardiberi and Koygolo (Dosso). In Kankantouti, a site of one hectare fenced by means of wire mesh, where PROGIS made it possible to produce two market garden wells, put 401 linear meters (ml) of wire fence, 200 ml of The Californian irrigation network, dig 7 distribution basins and develop a nursery for the biological protection of the site.

On GWP Chair Bamsey: Ties of Nature in Water and Climate

Howard Bamsey, the new chair of the Global Water Partnership (GWP), was the UN ambassador to Geneva, special envoy for climate change, and top leader of the Green Climate Foundation (GCF).
