On 21st June 2018, the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) organised a meeting on Ghana Nationally Determined Contribution (Gh-NDC) to the Paris Agreement at Paradise Hotel in Koforidua, Eastern Region.
The investment potential in wastewater treatment and reuse in Middle East & North Africa (MENA) was discussed at a session organised by the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) during the recent World Water Week in Stockholm (27 August – 1 September 2017). This was part of the “MENA Focus” set of 4 sessions, led by key institutions in the Region.2017 was the 2nd year that a dedicated MENA Regional Focus was part of the World Water Weeks’ programme, alongside the Regional Focus Days for Africa, Asia and Latin America. In addition to the (co) organization of sessions, GWP-Med is coordinating the overall “MENA Focus”.
The Guinea Country Water Partnership is preparing to sign a MOU for its collaboration with national Hydraulic Fund. The chair El Hadj Mamadou Alpha HANN had a meeting with the Director General of the Hydraulics Fund, Mr. Ibrahima DIANE to discuss the issue and agree on the steps of the process.
The Asia Water Forum 2018 provides a platform and venue for sharing knowledge and experience on water information, innovation, and technology across the region. It takes place in Manila, Philippines on 2-4 October.

GWP Southern Africa played a major role in Botswana's development of a national Integrated Water Resources Management and Water Efficiency (IWRM/WE) Plan. The creation of GWP Botswana and its involvement in the process was vital to make it a success, allowing the government to access stakeholders from all levels of society, says Bogadi Mathangwane, Director of the Botswana Department of Water Affairs.
