Four Southern African Development Community (SADC) Member States have commended the SADC Secretariat for taking the lead in the fight against communicable diseases, including COVID-19 and cholera, through the installation of handwashing facilities at border crossings.
The 2023 International Women’s Day (IWD) theme is “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality.” IWD is a Day that the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) values, as it provides one of many opportunities to celebrate the achievements of women in its network and to empower women and girls.

The installation of the innovative 'Zero Drop water cooler' marks the completion of GWP-Med's Zero Drop program in Folegandros, which boosted the island's water supply by an additional 42.000.000 litres of water annually.
The Global Water Leadership in a Changing Climate programme (GWL) has held multi-stakeholder consultations in seven countries identifying the most critical barriers to climate-resilient water management. Working groups have now been formed to investigate these barriers and develop responses, beginning with a ‘root cause analysis’. Updates from three countries follow.
Thirty-five stakeholders from state institutions, civil society organizations, parastatals, Research institutions and the private sector identified processes, actors, and information systems involved in the development of policies, laws, and projects at the national and local levels in the water and climate sector which can serve as entry points for gender.
The consulting company will work closely with the national project coordinator, CAR’s NDA, and GWP team at national, regional, and global levels to design, develop and implement a suitable climate finance monitoring and tracking system that is responsive to the needs of the country's users. The current capacity of the NDA for monitoring and evaluation has been identified as low, and the selected firm will thus have an opportunity to significantly influence the future operation of CAR’s monitoring, reporting, and verification of climate finance. Consequently, the selected consulting company is expected to bring significant expertise and experience in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems in a developing country context.

The 10th World Water Forum “Water for Shared Prosperity” Kick-Off Meeting facilitated several discussions on six topics of water management through thematic and regional processes at the Jakarta Convention Center. As the host for the 10th World Water Forum that will be held in Bali on 18-24 May 2024, the Government of Indonesia facilitated the first kick-off meeting (stakeholders consultation meeting) on 15-16 February 2023, attended by policymakers, academics, practitioners, and associations operating in and related to the water sector.
