Call for proposals – DRIN DAY 2018

GEF/UNDP/GWP-Med project 'Enabling transboundary cooperation and integrated water resources management in the extended Drin River Basin' (GEF Drin Project) is making forces to raise public awareness about the natural wealth and legacy of the Drin River Basin on the occasion of Drin Day 2018.

The 5th edition of the Drin Day celebrations aiming to inspire collective and transboundary actions towards protecting the Drin River Basin and its freshwater ecosystems is organized under the auspices of the Drin Coordinated Action on the 5th of May 2018. This year, importance is given to transboundary activities. In this regard we encourage the preparation and submission of proposals from groups of NGO’s; at least two each one coming from a different country. The activities should geographically focus to a single sub-basins. NGOs/CSOs providing transboundary activities proposals will be supported by the GEF Drin Project to conduct event for the Drin Day 2018!

You are invited to submit your application to receive support describing the events you wish to organize. An amount of max. $6,000 ($3,500 for labor costs & $2,500 for promotional/printing costs) is available as seed funding to support each selected organization. 

NGOs will be selected upon their proposals for transboundary celebration of the Drin Day on the basin or Sub basin level.

You are kindly invited to read carefully the attached (Terms of Reference) and submit your proposal (Application Form) to the GWP-Med Secretariat by the 22 of March 2018. Successful applicants will be notified by the 30th of March 2018.

We look forward to having your organization on board in this endeavor to directly approach citizens in an activity which will not only be beneficial to the environment but which will also support NGO and stakeholder’s consensus in knowing that we are all joining efforts and making a statement more or less at the same time throughout the Drin River Basin.
