GWP regional coordinator, Mr. Dam MOGBANTE participated in the workshop. The workshop is one step in the development process, with the parties present (ABV and GWP-WA), of the concept note for a regional program taking into account the action focusing on the conservation and the restoration of a functional ecosystem in the Volta basin. This initiative is perceived by GWP / WA as an opportunity that supports a dimension of the Water-Energy-Food Security and Ecosystem nexus that GWP striving for, and to strengthen collaboration opportunities with IUCN-PACO, the VBA and in the coming years.
GWP WA strengthens partnership with IUCN and VBA
IUCN-PACO organized from May 18 to 21, 2016 in Leo, Burkina Faso, in collaboration with the Volta Bassin Authority (VBA), and GWP / WA a workshop to develop the outline of the concept note on the conservation and restoring of conserving and restoring ecosystem functioning in the Volta basin.
