Madrid, Spain – At a high-level event on December 7 here at the global climate conference, Global Water Partnership (GWP) will launch a report identifying major opportunities for water management to accelerate climate action and sustainable development.
The “1st Nexus Roundtable in the MENA and wider Mediterranean” will be held on 26-28 November 2018, in Beirut, Lebanon, at the Hilton Beirut Metropolitan Palace, under the auspices of the Lebanese Ministry of Energy and Water and in partnership with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the United Nations Environment Programme / Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP MAP).
In Somalia, water is life - literally. It is also a country where much is happening today. The one-person-one-vote election to take place in early 2021 will be a historic milestone in the country’s road back to security, stability, and wellbeing. It is a water scarce country, at risk of climate related variability, and has to improve its capacity to manage water well in coming years.

Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA), in collaboration with the Permanent Secretariat of IWRM Plan (SP PANGIRE) of Niger and the Country Water Partnership of Niger (CWP-Niger), submitted to the Delegation of the European Union (DEU) in Niamey a request for financing of the Project "Water for growth and poverty reduction in the Mekrou sub-basin in Niger" (Mekrou Project 2 - Niger).
GWP-CAf offered a training to the finance team of RECOJAC (Réseau Eau et Climat des Organisations de Jeunes d'Afrique Centrale) with a focus on grants management and justification.
