The ECOWAS water governance director at the Water Resources Management Center (WRMC), Mr. Bougonou K. DJERI-ALASSANI together with GWP-WA Executive Secretary, Mr. Armand HOUANYE had a virtual meeting on June 19, 2020 with the Director of Water Resources Management Planning, Mr. Niokhor NDOUR and the chair of the Country Water Partnership of Senegal, Dr. Adrien COLY.
Global Water Partnership, Central Africa (GWP-CAf) held its 14th Steering Committee (SC) meeting virtually on November 12 - 13, 2020. The special steering committee meeting was attended by twelve of the fourteen GWP-CAf SC members and the entire GWP-CAf secretariat.
A second Public Consultation on the Sevan Basin Management Plan was held in Armenia from June 11 to 17 July, 2020. The consultation was organised on the programme of measures for Sevan and Hrazdan river basins districts. This is part of the River Basin Management Plans (RBMP) developed for Sevan and Hrazdan river basins within EUWI+.
With over 54 shared river basins in Africa, cooperation in the management and development of transboundary water resources is a key building block towards regional and economic integration. The Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Mali have worked on Saturday 14 November 2019 to refine the country proposal for the SDG 6.5.1 Support Programme.
In March 2020, CWP-Benin, and Speak Up Africa (SUA) signed a partnership agreement for a grant of approximately Three million (3,000,000) CFA francs over a period from March to August 2020. This fund is intended to carry out a plea for a better management of the sanitation issue in Benin.
