Economy representatives and distinguished participants met in Skopje this week to discuss how water, energy, food and ecosystems can become more integrated in South East Europe (SEE).
The regional organization Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med | www.gwpmed.org) and the Energy and Water Agency of Malta (EWA| www.energywateragency.gov.mt) are issuing a call for proposals for college and university students and newly graduates of Art & Design, Media & Communication, Social Sciences and History backgrounds.
GWP West Africa new Executive Secretary Armand HOUANYE was officially introduced by the former one Dam MOGBANTE to the Director General of water resources (DGRE) of Burkina Faso, Mr. Serge TRAORE, on 21 November 2017.
More than 100 Members of Parliament, media and representatives of civil society working on environment and water issues got together from 22-24 November 2017, in Nicosia, to get informed, exchange views and provide suggestions on key Mediterranean processes on environment and water in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants originated from Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia along with the members of the United Nations Environment, UNESCO, UNECE, the Union for Mediterranean (UfM) and League of Arab States (LAS).
Aiming to make the youth’s voice heard in view of integrated water resources management, climate change adaptation and sustainable development, GWP-Med facilitates a youth dialogue entitled “Tunisia Youth mobilized for water and climate”. The dialogue started with a first workshop on 26th December 2017 and is continuing with a second workshop on the 25th May 2018, Tunis, Tunisia.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) together with its Partner, the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) have launched a World Water Day 2019 Caribbean 1-Minute Video Challenge.
Bhutan Water Partnership (BhWP) aligned to the World Water Day theme ‘Nature for Water: exploring nature-based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century’ conducted a drainage cleaning exercise on 22 March in Thimphu, Bhutan.
GWP is organising a Pan Asia learning webinar on Tuesday 18 June, at 8:30 AM Stockholm time (11:30 Tashkent / 12:00 Colombo / 13:30 Jakarta). The topic is: "Water-related adaptation planning and project preparation in countries across Asia: Korea Adaptation Week & the NAP Water Supplement".
#LeavingNoOneBehind is another global campaign of GWP in March of 2019. Multiple partners in the network from 85 countries are loyal supporters to GWP on this theme in the run-up to #WWD2019.
