The Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), in collaboration with the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), implemented a climate-resilient integrated water management pilot project in the Wami/Ruvu Basin, in Tanzania, that is aimed at helping communities living within the Basin adapt to the adverse effects of climate change.
The critical aspect of Integrated water resources management (IWRM) has been to provide guidance on how to manage water in an integrated manner as the water is the key driver of economic and social development, Thus, it is imperative that water issues are not considered in isolation.
The objective of this Kick-off Meeting is to provide essential information to participants on the framework and how to engage in the forum process for a further one and a half year until the day of the forum. As the first Stakeholders Consultation Meeting, this Kick Off Meeting will be the right momentum for the participants to bring and discuss their thematic, regional, and political priorities.
