The University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine Campus (Faculty of Food and Agriculture) along with other agencies, recently hosted a week-long International Conference entitled “Climate Change Impacts on Food and Nutrition Security” in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

In 2018, the International Coordinating Council of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme approved the registration of the Lower Prut Biosphere Reserve, which has now officially become the first biosphere reserve in Moldova.
The first International Forum on Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG) which gathered delegates from 47 countries ended with the Praia Commitments, which aim to promote sustainable water management as an engine for development, strengthening synergies across the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030, and supporting farmers through improved access to finance, innovative technologies and the adoption of sustainable water management practices.
As part of the implementation of the activities of the Project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin", the implementing partners met on 27 September 2019 in the conference room of the Volta Basin Authority (VBA) to discuss the modalities for the implementation of the first activities of the Project.

The INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "RATIONAL USE OF WATER RESOURCES - KEY FOR ACHIEVING THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS" organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the State Committee of Water Resources took place from 5-6 November 2019 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. GWP's new Strategy 2020-2025 was also launched at the event.
The first “International Workshop on Water and Agriculture in the Danube River Basin“ will take place from 6th to 7th November 2019 in Budapest, Hungary. The workshop is co-organised by the ICPDR, the Hungarian Ministry of Interior, the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture and the Danube Strategy Priority Area 4 and hosted by the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture.
