GWP China and WRI Join Hands in Strength

On March 2, 2017, as our loyal regional partner, the World Resources Institute (WRI) will sign the Memorandum of Understanding with GWP China. The signing ceremony will convene top leaders of GWP China and WRI at global level in Beijing.

The two organizations have developed cooperation and strategic relationship since 2009. WRI registered as the regional partner of GWP China in 2011. In recent years, GWP China and WRI have collaborated in setting up various platforms for domestic and international stakeholders to exchange information and experience as well as catalyse changes in policies or decision makers. The cooperation highlights are reflected in World Water Week, World Water Forum, Water Salon, etc, involving water management tools, water economy policies and water-energy development strategies in China. As water has its place in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals, GWP China and WRI also plan to draw a roadmap in China towards water goals of SDGs, echoing with other partners in the same camp in the worldwide.  As the tangible evidence of solidarity, the five-year MoU lays a foundation for both sides to elaborate cooperation areas and approaches based upon a shared commitment to the sustainable development and use of water resources in China and the world with the support of GWPO in Sweden and that of WRI Headquarter in the US.
